Rapoport Law Offices, P.C., files medical malpractice case based on negligence during the labor and delivery of a baby girl

December 12, 2011

Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. filed a lawsuit today in the Circuit Court of Adams County, Illinois, against a hospital, obstetrician and her medical practice group all located in Quincy, Illinois, for medical malpractice during the labor and delivery of a baby girl. The lawsuit alleges that during the labor and delivery process the external fetal heart rate monitoring lost reliability, appropriate interventions were not taken, a fetal scalp electrode was not promptly utilized, proper communication between the nurses, doctor and parents did not occur, and reasonable and necessary steps for the baby’s safety were not taken. As a result, the baby was not timely delivered and sustained brain damage.
