Attorney David Rapoport Co-leads Workshop for IIT Chicago Kent College of Solo and Small Practice Incubator

Attorneys David Rapoport & Ursula Henninger led a workshop for the IIT Chicago Kent Solo and Small Practice Incubator titled Lessons Learned from a Combined 55 Years of Practice Building: Moves We’re Glad We Made and Those We Wish We Didn’t!
The workshop was held at the IIT Chicago Kent College of Law as part of their Solo & Small Practice Incubator (SSPI), a one-year program designed to offer a select group of entrepreneurial-minded recent IIT Chicago-Kent graduates valuable experience and ongoing training to help build their professional careers as solo or small firm legal practitioners.
David E. Rapoport is a Chicago Kent ’81 alum and founding/managing partner of Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C.. An experienced trial attorney with 35 years under his belt, Mr. Rapoport has consistently won multimillion-dollar jury verdicts and settlements in various personal injury matters. He has been appointed by federal judges to serve on plaintiffs’ steering committees in airline disaster cases, and he is known nationally for his work in this area. Mr. Rapoport is board certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, an ABA accredited trial certification program, and he is a leader in the movement to encourage board certification for trial lawyers. He has been an Illinois Super Lawyer every year since the inception of the Super Lawyer program; he has been rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell; and has been listed in National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Illinois.
Ursula Henninger is a Wake Forest alum and partner in King & Spalding’s Tort and Environmental Practice Group in the firm’s Charlotte office. Ms. Henninger has over 20 years of experience in trying personal injury claims in courts throughout the U.S. She has defended a variety of product liability claims, handled mass tort litigation, and is routinely charged with leading industry groups related to common litigation themes and interest. Ms. Henninger has experience not only at counsel table, but in coordinating defense team efforts, including leading the management of cases on behalf of industry teams from the filing of the complaint to trial and through the appeal process. In addition to being a first-chair trial lawyer, Ms. Henninger often serves as lead case management attorney for actions filed in a number of jurisdictions and directs the pretrial discovery and motion practices for the defense team.
