The patient was treated and released from the Department of Emergency Services at a Chicago area hospital the afternoon of February 22, 2002. Later that evening the plaintiff returned to the same hospital and went through registration at the Department of Emergency Services again. After waiting for more then one hour without being called, the plaintiff traveled by cab to another hospital where she was diagnosed with an acute anterior infarct and experienced cardiac arrest.
