On June 26, 2006 a nursing home resident fell sustaining a subdural hematoma causing her death the next day. A lawsuit was filed by her family in the Circuit Court of Kane County, Illinois, alleging the fall was due to negligence of the nursing home for failing to assist and supervise the resident given that she was a high fall risk due to multiple pre-existing debilitating conditions. Today this lawsuit was settled for $500,000. The plaintiff was represented by Rapoport Law Offices. Attorney Joshua Weisberg served as lead counsel.
