The case involved a mix-up in pathology slides. The Rapoport Law Office client underwent a breast biopsy after which the specimen was mislabeled and switched with that of another patient. These slides, bearing another patient's tissue but our client's name, were interpreted by pathologists as demonstrating breast cancer. Consequently, our client underwent an unnecessary lumpectomy and SLNB from which she sustained an uncommon and rarely reported complication. The injury to the intercostal brachial nerve left our client unable to work all but sedentary jobs. She previously had been employed by Edward Hospital or its affiliates for 17 years.
