Octavio Duran

Octavio Duran is an attorney whose practice is dedicated exclusively to representing victims and their families in personal injury and wrongful death cases including lawsuits arising out of airplane crashes, semi truck and motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, work injury and construction accidents and product liability.
Prior to working for Rapoport Law Offices, Mr. Duran tried multiple misdemeanor bench trials for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office under the authority of the Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 and the certification of the Dean of his law school. Mr. Duran acquired the ability to represent clients because he was a senior law school student in great academic standing. He handled cases ranging from battery to destruction of property, and he won all of his cases.
Mr. Duran graduated from Michigan State University College of Law as the Class President, where he and the Class of 2011 raised enough funds to create the Joseph A. Lupton Jr. Scholarship, which they offered as their Class Gift. The scholarship serves to memorialize their peer, Joseph Lupton, who passed away, and it funds nontraditional law school students. He also served as Vice-President of the Public Interest Law Society where he helped create the first ever Public Interest Law Scholarship, which aids students who participate in Public Interest Internships. He served as the liaison for the Hispanic Law Society and for Phi Alpha Delta, assisting both in creating the first alumni networking event between the two organizations. He was a member of the Moot Court Trial and Advocacy Board where he became a semi-finalist in the National Trial Competition and the American Association for Justice Competition. He received a Pre-trial and Trial Certificate from a rigorous course offered to a select few in his law school, called the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute.
