Rapoport Law Offices Article Exposes Secrecy in Air Disaster Litigation

May 1, 2011 - The Spring 2011 issue of the International Aviation Law Institute's flagship publication, Issues in Aviation Law and Policy, has gone to press and includes an article by Rapoport Law Offices partners David E. Rapoport and Michael L. Teich called The Erosion of Secrecy in Air Disaster Litigation. The article discusses the proper role of court-ordered or government-enforced secrecy in air disaster litigation, the surprising amount of secrecy that has prevailed in these cases historically, and the modern trend which has slowly been eroding that secrecy. The article contends this is a good trend for the public, as new safety information discovered in litigation should be made publicly available to improve the safety of the aviation industry and to help save lives.
