Michael L. Teich Awarded Board Certification by National Board of Trial Advocacy

January 30, 2012

Rapoport Law Offices partner Michael L. Teich was recently named a Board Certified* Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the oldest and largest not for profit American Bar Association accredited trial attorney certification board in the United States.

The National Board Of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is devoted to improving the quality of trial advocacy and to aiding clients in choosing experienced legal representation. Founded in 1977, NBTA certifies attorneys as civil and criminal trial specialists. NBTA's administrative offices are located in Boston, Massachusetts and its board of directors consists of some of the most renowned trial attorneys, law professors, and judges across the country.

In order to be board certified by the NBTA Mr. Teich was required to demonstrate extensive experience in his specialty and meet rigorous objective quality standards. Unlike many organizations, an attorney cannot "join" simply by paying a fee. Attorneys with NBTA certification have proven competency in their field through specialized examinations and rigorous criteria for necessary experience and ethical ratings. Failure in any of these areas will prevent certification.

Mr. Teich is dedicated to helping negligence victims and their families. His most recent accomplishments include a record setting $3 million jury verdict in Macon County, Illinois, a $2.25 million verdict in Peoria, Illinois and a $2 million federal jury verdict in Chicago. *Board certification is not required to practice law in Illinois, and the Illinois Supreme Court does not recognize specialties in the practice of law.
