At the summer convention of the American Association for Justice attorney David Rapoport, founding partner of Rapoport Law Offices P.C. a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Chicago, was voted on to the Board of Directors of the The National Board of Legal Specialty Certification (NBLSC). Mr. Rapoport served as the Illinois state coordinator for the organization prior to joining the Board of Directors.
The National Board of Legal Specialty Certification is a non-profit organization accredited by the American Bar Association whose responsibility is to certify that attorneys are specially qualified in areas in which they seek to practice. In order to be certified one must meet rigorous experience requirements, ethical requirements, and demonstrate, via testing, one's competence. Unlike many organizations, one does not simply pay a fee to join. Attorneys with NBLSC certification have proven competency in their field through specialized examinations and rigorous criteria for necessary experience and ethical ratings. Failure in any of these areas will prevent certification.
